Print

Overview

The sub process Authorising a Work Package is preceded by the authorisation to proceed with a stage (DP3 Authorising a Stage or Exception Plan) or indeed the entire project as per DP2 Authorising a Project. Work Packages need to be approved and then accepted (MP1 Accepting a Work Package) by the Team Manager who is undertaking the work. Included in the Work Package are the terms of reference for the work to be done, that is the cost and time, progress reporting requirements, interfaces with groups of products and Product Descriptions. The Project Manager should also include information on potential Risks, Configuration Management processes and the resources that are expected to be available and used.

This process overlaps with MP1 Accepting a Work Package during negotiation of dates and other parameters. The Project Manager is responsible for this sub-process to seek agreement with the Team Managers. It is the responsibility of the Configuration Librarian to update Configuration Item Records.
