Print

Overview

Once the state status has been reviewed there may be a need for the Project Manager to take corrective action on an issue or aspect of the project that prevents it from;

  • Being contained within its Tolerance margins or
  • Meeting quality targets.

When an issue such as this is identified the steps are:

  1. Collect information about the deviation
  2. Identify the cause(s) and consequences of the deviation
  3. Identify potential ways to deal with this deviation, and select one
  4. If advice from the Project Board is sought assemble all information about the problem including the recommendation and present it
  5. Update the Stage Plan, Product Description(s) and Configuration Item Record
  6. Carry out the corrective action.

  • Small changes that cause no foreseeable threat to tolerance margins can be documented in the daily log, be sure to include what action was taken, by whom and when.
