Overview
Created in IP1 Planning Quality the Configuration Management Plan includes change control responsibilities, procedures and a Change Budget. Essentially a Configuration Management Plan defines how the management of a project's products will be carried out, by whom and to what level of security. At a physical level it outlines where and how products will be stored, what filing system will be used and how versions of products will be identified.
The Configuration Management Plan forms part of the Project Quality Plan and can be derived from the customers and/or suppliers Quality Management System (QMS). Any deviations from these or programme QMS should be stated in the Configuration Management Plan.
Tips
- Be sure that version control is clearly identified.
